More standard-conformant client will probably not expect (or support) an OD environment, so the server needs to support rooms and their capacity.

2/1/07 12:45 PM Wilfredo Sanchez: What we want is a generic ability to get some additional attributes for certain directory record types. In the case of rooms, that includes capacity.
2/9/07 12:19 PM Cyrus Daboo: There was discussion at Calconnect about the idea of a VRESOURCE iCalendar component that could be used to describe properties about resources and locations. Room size, available built-in projectors, catering manager, spill-over space - anything like that could be defined as properties on the new component.
There was not a great deal of interest to pursue that right now - mostly because people are too busy with CalDAV etc, but in the longer term it would be useful.
For now though, webdav properties are the best way to go.
PS There is also the VVENUE component which is meant to provide information for attendees about how to get to a location etc. The daft for that is out, but not much feedback right now. Again it would be good to support this directly.
